Taipei Municipal Jui-Fang Industrial High Schoo recently collaborated with HERAN Co., Ltd., Innodisk Cultural and Educational Foundation, and three tertiary institutions, including the National Chin-Yi University of Technology, Taipei City University of Science and Technology, and Lunghwa University of Science and Technology. Together, they held the opening ceremony of the HERAN Industry-Academic Talent Training Center. This joint initiative inaugurated the Industry-Academic Talent Cultivation Center, aiming to establish the country's first AI smart home appliance industry-academic center. Utilizing an industry-university innovation model, the center aims to cultivate leading talents in the field of smart home appliances in the AI era.
The Education Bureau announced that the center was generously donated by HERAN Co., Ltd., and it serves to support technical and vocational schools in promoting the concept of AI intelligence. The center is structured around three major themes: "Inverter Air Conditioning," "Smart Home," and "Antibacterial Fans." It showcases HERAN's advanced technology in the home appliance industry, fostering teaching innovation and talent cultivation through situational performances and two-way interaction. This approach aims to inspire students with the concept of smart home appliances.
NCUT Professor Wang, San-Fu emphasized that, by leveraging the display of smart home appliances at Jui-Fang Industrial High School and combining resources from the HERAN home appliance industry, they can effectively nurture technical and vocational talents. In addition to practical implementation, the focus is on guiding students to enhance their skills and academic knowledge through theoretical principles. The objective is to create a professional training center equipped with the best environment and the most advanced and excellent equipment, facilitating the cultivation of students at Jui-Fang Industrial High School.
Pan, Tai-Shen, the principal of Jui-Fang Industrial High School, stated that the school combines the introduction of HERAN home appliances and technology from the University of Science and Technology with the purpose of improving students' professional quality and cultivating outstanding IT professionals. It also integrates domestic and foreign market trends to enable students to understand the industrial environment and direction in advance.
Chen, Ke-Jian, director of the school's internship office, added that the home appliances in the exhibition center, such as TVs, air conditioners, fans, and sweeping robots, combined with mobile app control, not only make life more convenient but can also benefit various groups, such as the elderly or people with limited mobility. Through smart home appliances, individuals can operate various electrical appliances more conveniently and humanely, thereby genuinely improving their quality of life. After studying, students can gain a deeper understanding of the applications and functions of smart IoT and successfully apply what they have learned in class to produce basic smart IoT projects.
The Education Bureau added that this time, Jui-Fang Industrial High School is cooperating with HERAN Home Appliances to establish an industry-university talent cultivation center, which serves as a model of industry-university cooperation. This cross-border cooperation model will become a model for promoting technical and vocational education and will be an important force in educational innovation and upgrading. New Taipei Technical and Vocational Education has always been a leader in the country. From 2023 to 2026, it will fully promote technical and vocational education with a four-year funding of NT$800 million to help schools implement the spirit of applying learning and shorten the gap between learning and application, thereby enhancing students' employment competitiveness and cultivating students with the ability to become world technical and vocational talents specializing in international mobility and innovation.
